Hossein Fatemi, b.1980 in Iran, is and award-winning photographer who began his career in 1997. He has worked in Lebanon, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Georgia, Russia, India, Somalia, Kenya , Afghanistan and Bangladesh. His work has been published in numerous national and international publications including The Times, Newsweek,Time, Paris Match, The New York Times, National Geographic, The Guardian and The Washington Post.
Under the Surface, A photographic portrait of the Middle East, Fatemi's premiere exhibition in the United States, presents a curated selection of Fatemi's images, including never-before-seen photographs, and a 10-minute trailer to Fatemi's documentary. The exhibition reveals the Middle East’s complex society and lifts the veil on some of the less observed areas of daily life.
