THE DEMANDMENTS PROGRAM
is an education program consisting of free art assignments designed to help youth engage constructively in our changing world. Children learn to identify pressing local and global issues, form opinions, express their concerns, and demand change clearly and confidently while proposing attainable solutions for their communities to embrace.
THE DEMANDMENTS PROGRAM
is available online. Themes, issues and existing solutions are introduced and tools are provided for students to better comprehend and exert their influence in bringing about positive change.
MEGAN WILLIAMSON's Hands-On Workshop: Experimenting with Artist Materials
No experience needed
Have you ever looked at a piece of art and wondered:
-
How did the artist do that?
-
Why do artists paint with oil instead of acrylic?
-
What are the different drawing mediums, and how do you choose one?
Spend 2 hours with TAP friends, a glass of wine and visual artist Megan Williamson. Join us in her Wicker Park studio annex as we experiment with 6 different types of artists’ mediums.
This is an opportunity to get a feeling for what it’s like to use these materials and maybe have some insight into how they can support, inspire or bedevil an artist. There is no right or wrong in this workshop -- the goal is to enhance and deepen your appreciation for how different mediums work.
